Toronto, Ontario, October 17, 2013 – Brookfield Asset Management Inc. (NYSE: BAM) (TSX: BAM.A) (Euronext: BAMA) announced today that it has agreed to issue C$200 million aggregate principal amount of a re-opening of 5.04% medium term notes (“notes”) with a March 2024 maturity.
The original issuance of the notes was completed in September 2013. The additional notes will have the same coupon of 5.04% as well as the same terms and conditions as the company’s notes issued in September 2013, but will be issued at a price of C$100.468 plus accrued interest, with an effective yield of 4.981% if held to maturity. An aggregate of C$500 million of notes will be outstanding after giving effect to this offering.
The notes have been assigned a credit rating of Baa2 (stable) by Moody’s, A- (stable) by Standard & Poor’s, BBB (stable) by Fitch and A (low) (negative) by DBRS.
The company intends to use the net proceeds of the issue for general corporate purposes.
The notes are being offered through a syndicate of agents led by CIBC World Markets Inc., HSBC Securities (Canada) Inc. and TD Securities Inc.
